Programs and Utilities
This is a list of some of the programs I've written that are available for purchase,
lease, or freeware. All can be customized upon request. This is just a few to give
you an idea of what I have worked with.
- MvConv (Click here to run!)
-
This is a freeware program that does conversion between
the multivalue system internal dates, pc internal dates,
and standard dates. If you click on the difference panel,
it will show the number of days between the current date
and any other date you select. It also converts multivalue
time (which is seconds of the day), and character conversions.
These are handy if you do any programming or editing of data
on your system. The program will minimize to the task bar.
Feel free to download and use it if you'd like, or run it from
this web site to check it out. Just click on the program name.
(This program was written in C++Builder6).
- ScoutPrints (Click here to install! - 5 meg)
-
This is another freeware program for Scoutmasters or other
scouters to track the progress of the Boy Scouts they are
in charge of. It will store contact data, progress including
the detail for specific awards, attendence, amd more. You can
also add pictures of each of the scouts to help memorize which
names go to which faces. (A nice feature for large groups if your
as bad at remembering names as I am.) You can add awards or
change the requirements for awards already in the system. It is
completely stand alone, and requires no other programs to run.
It has a help file to walk you through how to accomplish different
tasks, so no special computer knowledge is required. I wrote it
for my own use, but hopefully have made it simple enough to be of
use to other scoutmasters.
- Archiving
-
The archiving routines (pc based) let you set up a pc as a serial printer
on your system. You can then send your month-end (or other) reports
to it and it will break them out by store, type and date on the PC.
They are stored as text files so they can be read into a word processesor
or spreadsheet, or read with the archive reader that comes with it. It's setup
to be automated. You just send your reports, and each morning (or when scheduled)
it will breakout the reports that have been sent. No proprietary formats to
contend with. Auditors love having it in electronic format. (You can just burn it
on a cd for them.) Can be a great storage space saver. You own the data so you
can make as many copies as you need.
- Schedrip
-
This program is a pc based program. Usually used with the data from the above archiving
program, it will allow you to read an electronic schedule or journal, and 'rip' specific
data from it. For example you can pull all values by reference for a specific account,
or all sales prices for vehicles from a sales journal.
- Gas POs
-
A custom purchase order program for gas on ADP systems. It allows setting up
for PO's to specific places only. It also has extensive setups to specify who,
and under what circumstances a PO can be written. Examples are fillup for delivery
requires a recent sale of the vehicle and can only be filled once. Demo's have a minimum
days between fillups, etc. Overrides are by security access. Users can also maintain a
file of gallons per model, with defaults for unknown models and many other features. Reporting
and reconciling included.
- Journal Exceptions
-
Custom ADP program for allowing accounting to set limits for items in a specific journal
by gross profit, gross profit percent, cost, sale, or account, and then report all exceptions.
Great for finding questionable transactions and posting errors.
- HR Database
-
Custom ADP program tracking HR information for employees, including for multiple companies.
Allows traking of benefits (and waivers), Employee assigned equipment, new-hire and
termination documents, etc.
- DCS Comparison
-
Custom ADP and PC programs that together allow a sales manager to download information
from the manufacturers internet Dealer Communication System, and compare his current and
in-transit inventories to prevent errors that could effect ordering vehicles.
- BinList
-
Custom programs for ADP systems, such as a report to show the range of part
numbers in each bin (to correct misplaced parts before inventory).
- Special Order Labels
-
Custom program for ADP parts to print labels for recieved special orders, so
they can be labeled and not accidently sold.
